Dealer Financial Statement Analysis Software: Options

There are five kinds of tools a franchised dealer can use to analyze a financial statement: 20 Group composites, DMS analytics, CPA firm reviews, single-department tools, and statement-reading software like Pocket20. Each one reads different data, on a different schedule, for a different price.

This comparison uses what each provider publishes about itself, as of October 2026.

1. 20 Group composites (NADA 20 Group, NCM Associates)

  • What it reads: your factory statement, combined with the other members' statements in a composite.

  • What you get: a composite comparing you to the group's average and best performers, plus in-person meetings. NCM's "Reality Check" colors more than 50 key items green or red against its benchmark.

  • Price: NADA publishes $245 to $480 per month per rooftop, plus a $350 setup fee. NCM does not publish prices.

  • Best for: peer accountability and networking.

  • Sources: NADA 20 Group, NCM Benchmark Reports.

2. DMS analytics (CDK Intelligence Suite, Tekion Advanced Analytics)

  • What it reads: your DMS data, inside that DMS.

  • What you get: dashboards and KPI reports. CDK adds "Dealers Like Me" peer benchmarking against stores of similar size and market. Tekion offers consolidated financial statement views and gross profit monitoring.

  • Price: not published.

  • Best for: day-to-day reporting for stores already on that DMS. It doesn't help a group that runs more than one DMS.

  • Sources: CDK Intelligence Suite, Tekion Advanced Analytics.

3. CPA firm statement reviews

  • What it reads: your statements and books, reviewed by a dealership accounting practice. Crowe, for example, offers a financial statement analysis service for dealers.

  • What you get: an advisor's review, often alongside tax and audit work.

  • Price: set by engagement.

  • Best for: stores that want an accountant's view tied to tax and year-end planning.

4. Single-department tools

  • What it reads: one part of the store. DealerPulse, for example, covers F&I only: penetration, per-unit reserve and coaching.

  • Price: DealerPulse publishes $99 per month for one rooftop and $299 for up to 10.

  • Best for: a focused fix in one department.

  • Source: DealerPulse on Capterra.

5. Statement-reading software (Pocket20)

  • What it reads: your own factory financial statement PDF, every printed line, with no DMS connection.

  • What you get: every line measured against national benchmarks with a named source, missed gross and net opportunity ranked in dollars, the math and the source on every fix, operator-written questions that walk each number back to its cause, and next month's statement showing whether the dollars moved. It reads Ford, GM, Stellantis and Honda statements, with group roll-ups across rooftops.

  • Price: per rooftop, per month. See pricing.

  • Best for: owners, GMs and controllers who want the whole statement read every month, ranked in dollars, without travel or a DMS project.

How to choose

  • Want peers and meetings? A 20 Group.

  • Want daily dashboards inside your DMS? Your DMS's analytics.

  • Want an accountant's review? A CPA firm with a dealership practice.

  • Want one department fixed? A single-department tool.

  • Want your whole statement read every month, ranked in dollars? Pocket20.

Many stores use more than one. A ranked fix list from your own statement makes a 20 Group meeting or a CPA review more useful, not less. See Pocket20 vs. a 20 Group.
