About us

We ran the stores. Then we built the tool.

Pocket20 (sometimes written Pocket 20) was built by two dealership operators with more than 45 years between them on the floor of real stores — not a software lab. It reads your statement, benchmarks every line, and hands back a ranked list of fixes in real dollars, with the why behind each one. Your 20-group, in your pocket.

Why we built it

Not enough hours in the day.

One of our founders spent 25 years running dealerships as a General Manager and Director of Operations. Every month the statement landed with the same problem: plenty of numbers, not enough hours. He would spend countless hours working out where to start — which of the dozen things that looked off actually mattered most — and then how to fix it. All while still leading the store and the people in it.

The statement wasn't the only stack on the desk. When he found someone he really wanted to hire, the same questions came up every time: Can I afford them? Is my pay plan competitive? And every year came forecasting — days at a desk with multiple screens open and stacks of past months and years, building next year's plan by hand.

There had to be a better way. With the technology available today, there was no reason an operator should still be doing this with a highlighter and a calculator. So we built it.

More than a read

A leadership tool, not just a report.

See where you can keep more of what you earn

Most operators know how to sell cars. Few have the time to find every place the store could retain more of the money it has already earned. Pocket20 finds them, line by line, and ranks them in dollars.

Run higher-level meetings

Sit down with your department heads around one ranked list, in dollars, with the why behind every number — so the meeting is about decisions, not digging.

Empower your leaders

Every manager sees the numbers they own and the questions behind them, so they walk in prepared and own the fix.

Have a firm grasp of your store

Month after month, see what moved, what didn't, and what's still on the table — and plan the year with Forecasting instead of a desk full of paper.

Who's behind it

Operators first.
