Pocket20 vs. a 20 Group: What Each One Does

A 20 Group gives you peers, meetings and a monthly composite. Pocket20 gives you your own factory statement read line by line, with every gap ranked in dollars, minutes after you upload it. They solve different problems, and many stores will want both.

What a 20 Group is

A 20 Group is a group of non-competing dealers, usually about 20, who share their financial statements, compare results in a composite, and meet in person with a moderator. See What is a dealer 20 Group?

What a 20 Group does well:

  • Peer accountability and ideas from operators who have solved the same problems.

  • A moderator who knows the brand and the market.

  • Networking and long-term relationships.

What it costs (NADA 20 Group, published prices as of October 2026):

  • Traditional program: $480 per month per rooftop.

  • Analytics and Financial Composite: $335 per month.

  • Financial Composite only: $245 per month.

  • A one-time $350 setup fee, and the first meeting is free.

  • Three in-person meetings a year, two to three days each. Members pay their own travel and meals and share meeting expenses.

What Pocket20 is

Pocket20 reads your own factory financial statement, every printed line, measures each one against benchmarks with named sources, and ranks your missed gross and net opportunity in dollars. Every fix shows your number, the benchmark, the source and the arithmetic. Your next statement shows whether the dollars moved.

Side by side

  • What gets read. A 20 Group: your statement inside a composite of the group's statements. Pocket20: your own statement, every line, against national benchmarks.

  • Benchmark. A 20 Group: the group's average and best performers, which is only as good as what each member reports. Pocket20: national benchmarks with a named source on every one.

  • Output. A 20 Group: a composite and a meeting discussion. Pocket20: a ranked list of fixes in dollars, with the questions that walk each number back to its cause.

  • Timing. A 20 Group: monthly composites and three meetings a year. Pocket20: minutes after you upload the statement, every month.

  • Travel. A 20 Group: two to three days per meeting, three times a year. Pocket20: none.

  • Brands. A 20 Group: usually one franchise per group. Pocket20: Ford, GM, Stellantis and Honda statements, and more brands being added.

  • Price. A 20 Group: $245 to $480 per month per rooftop at NADA, plus travel. Pocket20: priced per rooftop, per month. See pricing.

Which one do you need?

  • Choose a 20 Group if peer relationships, in-person accountability and a brand-specific moderator are what you want most.

  • Choose Pocket20 if you want your own statement read every month, fast, with the dollars ranked and the math shown, and no travel.

  • Use both if you're already in a group: Pocket20 gives you the ranked fix list to bring to the meeting, and shows next month whether the fix worked.
