Floor plan interest calculator

See what your aged new units cost in floor plan interest after the factory's floor plan assistance runs out. Enter your own numbers. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

INTEREST PAST THE FACTORY CREDIT
$6,904
missed net opportunity on these units, paid by the store
Every day these units sit: $173
Per unit, per day: $8.63
Days past the credit: 40
Total interest while in stock: $17,260
The math: 20 units × $45,000 × 7% ÷ 365 × 40 days past the credit = $6,904

How the calculator works

Floor plan interest accrues every day a financed unit sits: the unit's cost times the annual rate, divided by 365. On new units, the factory's floor plan assistance offsets that interest for a period. The cost that matters is the interest on the days past that window, because the store pays it itself. It is a net expense, so cutting it adds to net profit dollar for dollar without touching gross.

This is an estimate from the numbers you enter. Your lender's statement and your factory's assistance terms are the exact figures. Read more in Floor plan interest, explained and Dealership days' supply.
